Bulk Barcode Validator

Paste a list of codes (one per line) to check for validity.

High-Volume GTIN Compliance & Auditing

Validate up to 10,000 UPC and EAN codes simultaneously. Perfect for Amazon sellers launching new product lines, inventory managers auditing databases, or suppliers ensuring code quality. Upload your spreadsheet (copy-paste), get instant validation results, and identify errors across your entire catalog.

Enterprise-Level Validation for High-Volume Sellers

When managing hundreds or thousands of SKUs, manual verification is impossible. Our bulk barcode validator is designed to handle high-volume product lists, identifying errors before they reach Amazon Seller Central or physical retail systems.

  • Pre-Purchase Verification: Validate supplier-provided code lists before payment.
  • Pre-Upload Cleanup: Clean product catalogs before uploading to Amazon or Shopify.
  • Database Auditing: Perform quarterly compliance checks on your existing inventory systems.

Understanding the Validation Results

  • ✅ Valid: The GTIN passes the modulo 10 check and is safe for retail listings.
  • ❌ Invalid: The check digit does not match. Do NOT use these for listings as they will be rejected.
  • ⚠️ Warning: The code structure might be unusual (e.g., incorrect length), requiring manual review.

Interpreting Bulk Results for Decision Making

A high failure rate in your batch processing can indicate several systemic issues:

  • Multiple Invalids (10%+): This often points to a poor-quality barcode reseller or a corrupted manufacturer database. Consider contacting your supplier for a replacement batch.
  • Consistent Off-by-One Errors: Frequently caused by spreadsheet software trimming leading zeros. Always format your barcode columns as "Text" in Excel or Google Sheets.

Workflow Integration

Integrate our validator into your monthly auditing cycle. By catching errors early, you avoid listing suppression, brand registry delays, and the high cost of re-stickering physical inventory in fulfillment centers.

Bulk Validator FAQs

How many codes can I validate at once?

Our tool is optimized to process batches of up to 10,000 codes in a single session. This allows for rapid auditing of large product catalogs or manufacturer manifests.

What does it mean if my codes are invalid?

An invalid status means the check digit doesn't match the algorithmic requirement. This indicates a data entry error or a potentially illegitimate code that will be rejected by major retailers.

Can I upload a CSV file?

Currently, the fastest way to validate is by copy-pasting your code column directly from Excel, CSV, or Google Sheets into the text area above. Our tool handles standard column formatting automatically.

How to fix 'Invalid GTIN' errors on Amazon Seller Central

Getting an "Invalid GTIN" error on Amazon can be frustrating. This usually happens when the product ID you entered doesn't check out against the GS1 database or doesn't match the expected format for the product category.

Common Causes:

  • Typo in digits: Double-check your numbers. Even one wrong digit messes up the check digit.
  • Wrong Type: Ensure you are using the correct ID type (UPC, EAN, GTIN-14) in the dropdown.
  • Brand Mismatch: If your brand is brand-registered, the GTIN must be linked to your brand in GS1.

Solution: Use our GTIN Validator tool to verify your number supports the check digit algorithm before submitting.

The difference between UPC-A and EAN-13

While they look similar, UPC-A and EAN-13 serve different markets.

  • UPC-A: 12 digits. Standard in the United States and Canada.
  • EAN-13: 13 digits. Standard globally (Europe, Asia, Australia).

Fun Fact: An EAN-13 is basically a UPC-A with a leading "0". Most modern scanners read both formats effortlessly. If you have a UPC and need an EAN, just add a zero to the front!

GS1 vs. Cheap Reseller Codes: Which should you buy?

Building a long-term brand? Go with GS1.

Cheap reseller codes often come from old bulk purchases (pre-2002). While legal, they are registered to a different company (the original buyer), not your brand.

For major retailers like Amazon, Walmart, and Whole Foods, GS1-direct codes are a requirement to prevent account suspension and ensure your product ownership is undisputed.
